An Evening of Bob Dylan
5/9/2012
Paoli, IN – Pivotal People of Southern Indiana announces the first musical performance
event in the historic space at 205 W Main, Paoli (located on IN-56 W/US-150 W next to
Dairyland.) Indianapolis based musicians will be appearing at the historic space to
perform “An Evening of Bob Dylan.”
Bob Dylan released his first album fifty years ago in March of 1962. In those 50 years
he's assembled a body of work that is unimpeachable and created the soundtrack to
thousands, perhaps even millions of people’s lives. Indianapolis musicians Sam Fain
and Michael & Frank Shelton will pay tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of all
time with a one night only performance on Saturday, May 19th at 8:00pm.
Michael Shelton is the Founder/Artistic Director of Heartland Actor’s Repertory Theatre
(HART) and is a regular on Indianapolis stages having performed in various productions
at the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT), the Phoenix Theatre and HART. He is also a
semi-regular performer at the rock & roll dueling piano bar Howl at the Moon. Frank is
Michael’s musically prolific 14-year old son, who is also involved in Indianapolis area
theatre and plays piano in his rock band ZMC as well as guitar with his award winning
school Jazz Band. Sam Fain has appeared with Acting Up Productions in Night of the
Living Dead - Part I, Two Rooms and A Steady Rain; as well as roles on stage at the
IRT, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Theatre Non Nobis, and HART where he is also a
company member.
Patrons will be treated to a night of Bob Dylan songs spanning his remarkable 50 year
career from “Blowin’ in the Wind” to “Tangled Up in Blue” to the more recent Academy
Award-winning “Things Have Changed.” Michael, Sam and Frank will utilize various
instrumentation including piano, vocals, harmonicas, ukelele, mandolin, djembe (drum)
and acoustic and electric guitars to pay tribute to this world-changing songwriter.
