Experience a rewind through sports history at Vintage Base Ball, which portrays America’s pastime as it was played in the earliest days of the sport. Throwback teams will compete in exhibition games from the period when “base ball” was two words and the sport looked much different when it was gaining popularity in the mid-1800s. Pitching was underhanded, fielders didn’t use gloves, and games were played in open fields without fences. You might see a “muckle” (power hitter) crush a “four baser” (home run) as players will also recreate the look and lingo from the era, complete with vintage reproduction uniforms. Admission is free to the public, and modern baseball concessions will also be on sale for spectators.
